Ename 1150

The period around 1150 was a difficult one for the abbey in Ename.  Abbot Snellaert, who was a monk at the abbey of Affligem before coming to Ename, decided to build a new abbey church in 1139.  But that same year had a serious famine, depriving the abbey from a lot of income.
